Step through the gate today and rewrite history with the exclusive, limited-edition vinyl collection of the 13 Sentinels: Aegis Rim Original Soundtrack.

For the first time ever, the award-winning score by the Basiscape team – featuring Hitoshi Sakimoto, Mitsuhiro Kaneda, Yoshimi Kudo, Rikako Watanabe, Yukinori Kikuchi, Kazuki Higashihara and Azusa Chiba – is receiving a physical release on vinyl. This isn't just a treat for your ears; the package features the stunning, signature art style that has set Vanillaware apart from the classic, Japanese productions.

Unlike their other scores composed for Vanillaware, this soundtrack is a bold homage to the Japanese club scene and modern electronic standards. It is a musical departure that perfectly mirrors the game's complex sci-fi world.

“Throughout my career, I’ve worked on many fantasy projects, but my musical roots actually lie in techno and progressive rock - and I happen to be a huge sci-fi fan myself. Of course, liking a genre and being good at it are two different things, but when Mr. Kamiya from Vanillaware first shared the concept for 13 Sentinels: Aegis Rim, I was incredibly fired up. It marked the beginning of a long journey of trial and error as we figured out how to support such a complex, grand plot through sound. Our goals were twofold. From a musical perspective, we prioritized building a foundation of realistic film scores while focusing heavily on the structural composition of techno. This required balancing conflicting elements – such as maintaining a unified feel while expanding the music's layers – and setting our priorities accordingly.” Hitoshi Sakimoto – A&R Producer

The set is presented in custom-designed collector’s box adorned with original artwork designed at Vanillaware. Inside, you will find unique artworks on each sleeve and a 3-LP collection pressed on 180g vinyl. The set features three discs in transparent turquoise coloring all protected by anti-static inner sleeves.

Commissioned to celebrate Hitoshi Sakimoto’s 40th anniversary in the music industry, this soundtrack release - alongside the rest of released scores - is the definitive way to experience the musical heritage of both Basiscape and the maestro himself. As a true limited edition, no future reprints will be produced.
