Description

In 2020 it was an innovation, last year a glorious return. In 2023, it’s safe to speak of a tradition. For the third time, Black Screen Records is proud to release its vinyl-only compilation “Sounds of Summer”, which is again available for free, of course.

This year's vinyl featured track from 15 upcoming indie games by 14 international artists and is a snapshot of the beautiful wide landscape of video game music as well as the stunning compositional quality. Musical styles vary from the highly energetic, crazy opener of the game “Antonblast” that culminates into a full-on saxophone solo to orchestral pieces like "Path of the Humidicrib" by Ratvader. As a highlight, Black Screen was also able to win composer Hitoshi Sakimoto who’s known for his work on the soundtracks Final Fantasy XII and Final Fantasy Tactics. Between all that, you will the atmospheric and choral gem “Battle Theme” of “Demonschool” or the funny indie pop theme of the next indie hint "Henry Halfhead". Just to pick up a few.

Every track a true highlight and worth listening. And again, IT’S FREE! Get your copy in the Black Screen Records online store and grad some other titles of your bucket list in our huge summer sale that’s starting along with the "Sounds of Summer" release on August 1. But you can also visit our team at this year’s Gamescom in Cologne, Germany and real people in real life will hand you this physical release. We can’t wait to meet you!

Yes! All of our own releases and the releases of our distribution partners are all officially licensed. We always ensure that all fees and royalties are paid to the rightful owners. We do not approve and support any kind of bootlegging or counterfeiting.
A pre-order may be sold out if either only a limited quantity is available due to production restrictions (limited pressing) or only a limited stock has been allocated to us as a distributor.
