To mark the 60th anniversary of Raumpatrouille – Die phantastischen Abenteuer des Raumschiffs Orion, the seventh release in our Peter Thomas series appears as an expanded and sonically remastered reissue on CD and LP. The iconic soundtrack remains one of the most influential in German television history—futuristic, rhythmic, and daring. Peter Thomas gave the series a unique sonic signature whose impact extends far beyond the screen. The legendary vocoder countdown and title theme have been sampled, covered, and reinterpreted countless times—by artists such as Pulp, Pizzicato Five, Die Fantastischen Vier, and Mousse T., among others.

In collaboration with Philip Thomas, four previously unreleased tracks from the composer’s estate have been added. The LP is based on the original 1966 Philips release, expanded with the new titles, and contains exclusively music heard in the series, with one exception: “Bolero on the Moon Rocks,” whose sample inspired Pulp’s 1998 track This Is Hardcore.
